Synopsis: An American in Canada follows the adventures of Jake Crew (Rick Roberts) a displaced and desperate newscaster from Arizona who takes a job at a Calgary Station. The show evolves around the classic theme of an American fish-out-of water stuck in the cold air of Canada… and his quest to either adapt and enjoy the many benefits of life in a new world (including cheaper beer) or bolt back to America where he can work on his tan. Jake's funny and, at times heartwarming journey toward accepting, and maybe even loving, his new home (where people say "sorry" way too much) is wonderfully guided by an engaging and quirky ensemble cast that helps Jake lurch from crisis to crisis.
