As a Master Gardener, Kathy Renwald volunteers on public gardening projects in Southern Ontario and lectures on gardening topics. In 1994, she won the Communicator of the Year Award from Landscape Ontario. She is a member of the Garden Writers of America, the Royal Botanical Gardens and Friends of the University of Guelph Arboretum.
