OUR STORY
S&S PRODUCTIONS INC. was incorporated on April 1, 1980. April Fool’s Day seemed appropriate for the two founders, Steve and Morag Smith. As the sole performers, and therefore ‘stars’, of the Smith & Smith television show, the company was originally created to serve as a production entity to make those shows. Since then the company has produced hundreds of television programs and has received multiple awards from the industry.
Joining the company in 1995, David Smith took over the executive production duties on all projects. Since then Dave and Hope Lee have formed a separate company called S&S Executive Services which handles production services in the areas of financing, administration and distribution, as well as offering a full-service post-production facility.
In 2009, Steve and Morag’s son Max joined the company full time and has taken over the Internet presence, merchandising, video production. editing and graphic design areas of the operation.
To date the most successful tv program produced by S&S is The Red Green Show. It is the longest running Canadian television show to air in America, ever.
While Max has taken over the day to day operations of the company, Steve is still actively involved and continues to tour with Morag, doing live one-man Red Green shows to audiences all over North America.
